In Search Of The Authentic

There is a rare human . . . who is not satisfied by anything less than The Real Deal.

He has an aversion for the fake.

He has an utter distaste for the false.

He has no interest in plastic, knock-off varieties.

For the things he cares about, he has forever been in search of . . . The Authentic.

And nothing less.

The trouble is not that The World, the society, is a flea market of second-hand goods . . .

The trouble is not that The World, the society, is a warehouse of bows, make-up, and packaging . . .

The World, the society, is what it is.

The trouble is not even that most humans do not see it for what it is.

The trouble is not even that most humans are duped by the packaging and the hoopla.

The reason that this is not the trouble is that most humans . . . even if they saw beyond the packaging . . . would be little affected.

The Trouble . . . is for that one rare human who is in search of The Authentic.

It is precisely his undying interest in The Authentic . . .

It is precisely his refusal to settle for anything less than The Authentic . . .

That makes him a rare human.

The only real trouble of The World, and the society, is not that it dupes the uninterested.

For the uninterested are . . . uninterested.

Whether they are shown plastic, or bows, confetti, or even rocks, sand, or gravel does not matter.

Because they are . . . uninterested.

The only real trouble of The World, and the society . . .

The only real tragedy of The World, and the society . . .

Is its effect upon the rare man.

The one who IS interested.

The one who is in search of The Authentic.

This man is the true casualty.

Because he is the only one who would make use of, and appreciate, and imbibe The Authentic if it was given to him.

When such a man of Possibility becomes duped by the bows, the packaging, and the rhetoric of society . . .

When such a man walks the well-worn paths of society that promise everything and lead nowhere . . .

This is the real tragedy.

In order to recognize The Authentic, one must have eyes that can See it.

In order to detect The Authentic, one must have the sort of heart that can Feel it.

The rare man who seeks The Authentic . . . he has for all of his life followed the paths of society. Beautified by incense. Littered with passages. Awash in ornate methods. And teeming with lofty techniques.

For all of his life, he has been told, if only he follows these things . . .

For all of his life, he has been told, if only he practices these methods . . .

For all of his life, he has been told, if only he attends the ceremonies . . .

For all of his life, he has been told, if only he chants the tunes . . .

He will get to where he wishes to go.

And for all of his life, he has been practicing . . .

For all of his life, he has been attending . . .

For all of his life, he has been chanting . . .

Yet, he is left with nothing but a sentiment. The very same sentiment that Siddhartha himself was left with after he wandered along these very same well-worn paths:

(Paraphrase): “I have meditated. I have starved myself. I have practiced austerities, in keeping with the spiritual authorities. I have done these things for years. Yet I am no closer to wisdom, than when I left my father’s house.”

The one who seeks The Authentic must realize:

It is not about one technique vs another.

It is not about one sect vs another.

It is not about one guru vs another.

It is not about one path vs another.

The one who seeks The Authentic must realize:

It is not about anything that is created by the hand of man.

For that which is created by the hand of man is, by its very definition, Manufactured.

And a thing that is by its very definition, Manufactured . . .

Is by its very definition . . . false, fake, and Inauthentic.

That which by its very definition is Manufactured . . .

Is by its very definition, Not . . . The Real Thing.

The only Authentic thing is that which is not Manufactured.

The only thing that is not Manufactured is the thing that is Original.

The only thing that is not Manufactured is the thing that is Untouched.

The only thing that is not Manufactured is the thing that Is Today . . . as it was in The Beginning.

The rare one who seeks The Authentic is in search of . . . This.

And there is only one thing that fits these criteria.

There is only one thing that is . . . This.

There is only one thing that is Not Manufactured.

There is only one that is . . . Authentic.

That one thing is the Pure, Direct, Raw, Unvarnished . . . Truth.

This is the only place the rare man in search of The Authentic can quench his thirst.

This is the only place . . . he can rest.

It is only in Truth, that he will at long last . . . have found his true Home.

Namaste.
