The Common Man

The world caters to the common man.

Because the common man

Is the world’s creation.

That which is valued

Determines the trajectory.

A philosophy that values the common

Leads to common-ness.

If there were such a thing

As a True world,

It would shun the common man.

It would not give him

The time of day.

It would have no advice for him.

No recommendations for him.

As it turns out,

The advice and recommendations are all lies,

But even the effort of spouting lies

Would not be put forth.

A man is not common

Because it is his destiny to be so.

He is common

Because he has no real interest

In being uncommon.

Why shall any “world”

Value such a man.

A True world

Would completely ignore

The common man.

What would likely happen

Is that some of the common men

Would feel compelled

To become Uncommon.

It would be a mistake

To assume that a common man

Is defined by wealth or poverty.

There are many commoners

Who are poor.

And many commoners

Who are wealthy.

What they think,

What they value,

Their level of concentration,

Their eye for precision,

Their desire for Truth,

And many characteristics

Determine their degree of common-ness

Or degree of Unique-ness.

The common man

Is not worth befriending.

The common man

Is not worth speaking to.

As a human being,

He deserves dignity and basic respect.

But no amount of effort

Shall be spent in his direction.

Things can be learned

From an uncommon man.

Nothing can be learned

From a common one.

Nature does not create

A common man.

The world

And its experts and minions

Create a common man.

The common man speaks.

But he speaks drivel.

He thinks.

But he thinks gibberish.

He reacts.

He opines.

He is subject to all manner of belief.

He begs for discounts, food, and money.

He is simply

A babbling idiot.

Why would any sane and intelligent human

Listen to a babbling idiot,

Any more than he listens to a mooo-ing cow,

Or a barking dog in the distance,

Or the screech of tires against the pavement.

The common man

Deserves no regard.

Because he does not possess

The necessary regard for himself

To become Uncommon.

Namaste.
